Food for your home in Kings County, Nova Scotia. This list is carefully compiled for use during and after our COVID pandemic which has impacted so many of our local food businesses. Presented by Kathy Whitewood of Royal LePage Atlantic.
Farmer's Markets
Each market has its own policies. A few are fully open while others are closed to the public with pick up orders only. Call in advance. Delivery possible for those in need. No senior hours.
Bakeries
Only a few bakeries are open with altered hours. Please call with your order. Limited # of people allowed in the stores if available.
Grocery Stores
All grocery store are open, most with altered hours. Most stores have senior hours (first hour in the morning). If you bring your own bags you will have to pack them. Some stores will only pack in their free plastic bags. No bulk food or service counters. Delivery possible with smaller stores for needy customers.
Pet Food & Supplies
Open with varied hours. Limited entry and store employees will shop for you. Other stores prefer you call your order in advance for pick up.
